Cockapoo
Mini Cockapoos, usually 16–30 pounds.
We raise Mini Cockapoos, usually 16–30 lb. They are our smallest doodle and often stay close to their people. Every parent is Embark health-tested and coat-panel verified before a pairing goes forward. Every parent is at least F1B; most are multigenerational.

A Cockapoo is an American Cocker Spaniel–Miniature Poodle cross.
Temperament
Cockapoos often stay close to their people and settle nearby. Temperament still varies within every litter, so we help families choose by the individual puppy.
Size & Growth
Our Mini Cockapoos are expected to reach 16–30 lb and 10–14 inches at the shoulder. A specific litter's projected adult range depends on the dam and sire.
Coat Types & Grooming
Cockapoo coats range from wavy to tight curl, and every parent is coat-panel verified for non-shedding. Brush with a straight-tooth comb at least once a week and plan for a full professional groom every 2–3 months.

Energy & Exercise
Cockapoo energy varies by puppy. Plan on daily walks and play, then adjust the amount to the individual dog.
Health & Lifespan
Cockapoos typically live 12–16 years.
Both parents complete Embark's 200+ condition panel before a pairing goes forward. Every parent is also coat-panel verified for non-shedding.
Cockapoos have drop ears, which can hold moisture. Apply a gentle ear flush and wipe every two weeks, and ask your groomer to assess ear hair at each visit.
Our one-year health guarantee can be extended to two years through NuVet (code 594016). Read the full terms before reserving.
Training
Cockapoos usually respond well to positive-reinforcement, marker-based training with high-value food rewards. Keep sessions short and consistent from the first day home.
If you'd like professional support with the early weeks, our close friends at Much Ado About Doodles offer optional one- and three-month training programs before hand-delivery. Current details are on the training page.
Is a Cockapoo right for you?
Adult size, daily routine, and individual puppy temperament all matter alongside breed. Our household fit guide walks through the practical questions that apply across all three breeds.
Cockapoo questions
- Are Cockapoos good apartment dogs?
- Mini Cockapoos are 16–30 lb and can live comfortably in an apartment when daily walks and play are part of the routine.
- Are your Cockapoos non-shedding and hypoallergenic?
- Our Cockapoos are bred for non-shedding coats, and both parents are coat-panel verified for non-shedding gene variants. “Hypoallergenic” does not mean allergy-free, so if allergies are a concern, spend time with a similar-coated doodle or poodle before reserving.
- American vs. English Cockapoo — what's the difference?
- We raise American Cockapoos, crossing American Cocker Spaniels with Miniature Poodles. English Cockapoos use an English Cocker Spaniel parent; size and temperament still depend on the individual parent dogs.
- Do Cockapoos like company?
- Cockapoos tend to enjoy company. Start alone-time gradually and keep the routine predictable. If your days run long, plan for a midday break.
- How long do Cockapoos live?
- Cockapoos typically live 12–16 years.
- Are Cockapoos good with kids?
- Cockapoos can do well with children, but individual temperament matters. Supervise early play and teach both the puppy and the children how to interact calmly.
